conversaction –
an intuitive exploration of ideas through conversation, graphic action,
text and digital imagery. Simon Bradley first developed this technique
as part of a quest to capture and illustrate the essence of conversations.
The first public display of conversaction was recorded in an exhibition
in 2001 entitled Text as a Visual Language at Eastthorope Visual
Arts. Since then, Simon has teamed up with creative writer
Rebecca Cherriman, and together they are extending the work as a community
artform. Since the process is non-judgemental, intrinsically reiterative,
and combines IT with creative literacy skills, there has been a lot of
interest expressed among community and arts groups. After a successful
pilot workshop at Outwood Grange Sixth Form College, Simon and Rebecca
are currently seeking funding to help roll out the project throughout
West Yorkshire as a series of workshops entitled Write Here!
